Car passenger accused of marijuana possession

JASPER — Police took a passenger in a midday Sunday traffic stop in Jasper into custody on a drug-related preliminary charge.

A Jasper Police Department officer on patrol stopped a Pontiac Sunfire at 11:55 a.m. for allegedly traveling 35 mph in a 25 mph section of South Newton Street.

The three vehicle occupants included back seat passenger Jonathan R. Montgomery, 36, Martinsville, who was allegedly found to be in possession of marijuana.

Authorities booked Montgomery into the Dubois County Security Center at 1:47 p.m.
