Car overturns off icy highwayFebruary 28, 2020

BRETZVILLE — Icy conditions Thursday morning caused a car to slide off a slick section of highway west of the Bretzville Junction.
James M. Allen, 25, Huntingburg, was eastbound on State Road 64 in a 1998 Ford Escort when the 6:05 a.m. accident occurred 750 feet east of County Road 50E, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office.
A deputy said Allen’s car slid off the south side of the highway and struck an Indiana Department of Transportation reflector post before overturning multiple times as it went down an embankment.
The car stopped after striking small trees and Allen was uninjured, according to the sheriff’s office.
Damage was estimated to have exceeded $5,000.
