From Local Sources
SCHNELLVILLE — A wrecker was needed Thursday when a car wound up in a ditch south of Schnellville.
Maria L. Mehringer, 18, Schnellville, was northbound on Pine Ridge Road in a 2001 Mercury Sable when the 4:18 a.m. accident occurred at County Road 400S, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office.
Mehringer told a deputy she did not recall the large curve where Pine Ridge Road blends into County Road 400S. Her Mercury ran off the roadway, struck some mailboxes and stopped on its side in a ditch.
A Berg’s Garage wrecker towed the Mercury for disabling damage estimated between $1,000 and $2,500.
Mehringer, who was wearing a seat belt, was not injured.
No citations were issued.
