HUNTINGBURG — No injuries were reported when a car hydroplaned and crashed Sunday night south of Huntingburg.
Kevin G. Herrera, 19, Huntingburg, was southbound on U.S. 231 in a 2017 Ford Mustang when the 8:12 p.m. accident occurred north of County Road 1150S, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office.
Herrera told a deputy his car began to hydroplane on the wet road surface and he lost control of the vehicle.
The Mustang went off the east side of the highway, slid down an embankment and hit a rock before striking an outbuilding before stopping.
Total damage was estimated between $2,500 and $5,000.
