DUBOIS — A wrecker was needed after a car hydroplaned and crashed Saturday morning at Dubois.
Mackenna N. Gromer, 25, French Lick, was eastbound on Vine Street in a 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt when the 10:35 a.m. accident occurred 100 feet west of Dubois Road Northeast, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office.
A deputy said Gromer’s car hydroplaned on water covering the roadway. The Cobalt ran off the south side of the street, struck a tree lying on the ground and continued eastbound until it stopped in a ditch facing east.
Damage was estimated to have exceeded $5,000.
A Sternberg Automotive Group wrecker assisted.
