Car collides with passenger van

JASPER — Police issued a traffic ticket after a car-versus-passenger-van collision Friday.
Karen S. Parnell, 58, Jasper, was northbound on U.S. 231 in a 2008 Kia Sedona when the 11:41 a.m. mishap occurred at Second Street, according to the Jasper Police Department.
Police said the Parnell Kia collided with a 2002 Toyota Camry driven by Marissa M. Bradley, 18, Jasper.
The Bradley Toyota had been southbound on U.S. 231 and attempted to make a left turn onto Second Street on a yellow directional signal, police reported.
Damage was estimated at $1,500 to the Bradley Toyota and $1,000 to the Parnell Kia.
An officer cited Bradley for disregarding a lighted signal.
No injuries were reported.
