The following scheduled events have been canceled or postponed because of COVID-19. The list will be updated regularly.

Celebration Singers: All rehearsals postponed until further notice.

Celestine Streetfest 2020: The 2020 festival has been canceled. The event will return on Saturday, June 26, 2021.

Community Table meals, Micah Center, Dale: The Micah Center of Dale Presbyterian Church has canceled the Thursday evening Community Table meals for as long Governor Holcomb’s order to stay home is in force.

Daughters of Isabella Circle 140, Jasper: June and July meetings have been canceled. The next meeting has been scheduled for Monday, Aug. 10.

Downtown Chowdown, Courthouse Square, Jasper: The first Downtown Chowdown scheduled for Wednesday, June 10, has been canceled. The event will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays, July 8, Aug. 12, Sept. 9 and Oct. 14. Until then, residents are encouraged to order a meal from an area restaurant Wednesdays, have a patio party and post a photo from the party to the City of Jasper’s Facebook page.

Dubois County Democrats: All public meetings are canceled until further notice. The Democratic Headquarters, 402 E. 13th St., Jasper, will be closed until further notice. For additional information, call 812-827-0000, email duboisdemocrats@gmail.com or visit the organization’s Facebook page.

Dubois County Museum: The Dubois County Museum will remain closed due to the coronavirus threat until all public places are safely allowed to open.

Dubois Strong: The annual meeting for Dubois Strong has been changed to 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2, at the Huntingburg Event Center. Networking will take place from 11 to 11:30 a.m. (The meeting had been rescheduled for Sept. 10 earlier.)

Ferdinand Folk Fest: The 2020 Ferdinand Folk Fest has been canceled. The event will return to 18th Street Park on Saturday, Sept. 18, 2021.

Habitat for Humanity ReStore: Habitat for Humanity ReStore will be closed for shopping, donation drop-off and purchase pick-up until further notice. All volunteer opportunities in the ReStore during this time period have been halted.

Heinrichsdorf Fest, St. Henry: The 2020 Heinrichsdorf Fest has been canceled. Instead, the St. Henry Community Club will have a drive-thru for barbecue chicken dinners at 4 p.m. at the Catholic Knights of America Hall. Dinners are $10. The fest will return June 11-12, 2021.

Huntingburg Public Library: Closed until further notice. Curbside and document services (printing, copying or faxing) are available. Patrons can place books on hold from the library’s website or by calling 812-683-2042.

Huntingburg Senior Center: Closed until further notice.

Jasper Chamber of Commerce: All events have been canceled until further notice.

Jasper Strassenfest: The 2020 festival has been canceled. The Strassenfest will return July 30 through Aug. 2, 2021.

John and Barbara Eisenhut Family: Due to the coronavirus, the John and Barbara Eisenhut family reunion scheduled for Sunday, June 14, has been canceled. The next reunion will take place June 13, 2021, with the Anna Harder descendants in charge. For additional information, call Ardella Zehr at 812-678-3142.

Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial: The visitor center is closed until further notice. Where it is possible to adhere to the latest health guidance of social distancing, visitors are invited to enjoy the hiking trails in the park.

Margry Lemond and James Nicholas Small family: The family reunion scheduled for July 25 at the Duff Conservation Club is canceled due to COVID-19. Due to crowd size, travel distances, families with underlying health concerns and other uncertainties, it is believe it is in the best interest to error on the side of caution. Memorial Hospital classes: Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center has canceled or postponed all classes, support groups, events and employer/community group health screenings until further notice. Classes and events will continue to be evaluated pending state recommendations. If you have any questions, call Memorial Hospital at 812-996-2345.

Mentors for Youth — Super Strikes: Mentors for Youth’s signature fundraiser, Super Strikes, has been held for over 30 years, and the organization intends to host the event in 2020, but the date is uncertain. “We are encouraging teams to still register,” Executive Director Ellen Corn, said.  “Teams can still register and fundraise online. We have a new online fundraising platform that makes fundraising easier than it has been in the past.” Teams can register online at www.mentors4youth.com and donations to teams can also be made online at  https://givebutter.com/super-strikes-2020.

Older American Center, Jasper: all scheduled activities — including bingo, catered meals and exercise classes — are canceled until June 14. The casino trip has been rescheduled for Friday, July 10.

St. John’s Lutheran Church, Evanston: The annual chicken supper planned for June has been canceled. The 2021 annual dinner will take place on June 12.
