The following scheduled events have been canceled or postponed because of COVID-19. The list will be updated daily.
American Legion Post 493, St. Anthony: The annual fundraiser has been postponed and monthly meetings of the Legion and its Auxiliary have been canceled until further notice. A new date has not been set for the fundraiser. Members are asked to turn in their raffle tickets as soon as possible; the drawing will take place Friday, April 17.
American Legion Post 366, St. Meinrad: The fish fry scheduled for Friday, March 27, has been canceled.
Birdseye Conservation Club: The shooting matched set for March 29 has been canceled. The 10-gun raffle drawing will take place; tickets are available by contacting Kelly Zehr at Zehr’s Auto or any board member. The winners will be notified.
Cancer benefit: The benefit for Kathy (Lampert) Merkley scheduled for March 28 has been rescheduled for Sunday, May 3, at the St. Anthony Community Center, 4665 S. Cross Road. Doors will open at 11 a.m. and meals will be served from noon to 2 p.m. A silent auction and bake sale will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tickets are available by calling Stacy Merkley at 812-630-5954, Cindy Eckstein at 812-631-2106 or Becky Lampert at 812-639-7138.
Christ the King Parish: The barbecued chicken dinner planned for Sunday, April 5, at the St. Henry Catholic Knights of America Hall has been canceled.
Community Table meals, Micah Center, Dale: The Micah Center of Dale Presbyterian Church has canceled the Thursday evening Community Table meals for as long Governor Holcomb’s order to stay home is in force.
Daughters of Isabella Circle 248, Ferdinand: The meeting scheduled for Monday, April 6, has been canceled.
Dubois County Democrats: All public meetings are canceled fro the next 30 to 60 days, including the March 25 public event featuring Democrats running for Indiana attorney general. Also, the Democratic Headquarters, 402 E. 13th St., Jasper, will be closed until further notice. Dubois County Museum: The museum will be closed until at least Tuesday, March 31.
Dubois County Historical Society meeting: The Dubois County Historical Society Meeting scheduled for Thursday, March 26, has been postponed until Thursday, Oct. 22. Dubois County REC: The annual meeting has been postponed indefinitely. Find updates at www.duboisrec.com.
Dubois County Retired Teachers Association: The April meeting will not be held due to restrictions in public gatherings. All members are asked to support the Community CHEW by sending money or donating food. Community CHEW also is taking hygiene items. Dubois Strong: The annual meeting for Dubois Strong has been changed to 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 10, at the Huntingburg Event Center. Networking will take place from 11 to 11:30 a.m.
Food for Thought: Food for Thought: There and Gone and Back Again scheduled for Wednesday, April 1, at the Jasper Parklands Pavilion, Jasper, has been canceled.
Garden Gate Festival: The Dubois County Chamber of Commerce’s Garden Gate Committee has postponed the Garden Gate Festival that was scheduled for Saturday, April 18, at Market Street Park in Huntingburg. The Golden Ticket Raffle that was also scheduled for April 18 will still happen, but will become a virtual event. Golden Raffle Tickets are still available at Gehlhausen’s Flowers and Lush Esthetics. The proceeds will benefit the Huntingburg Merchant Association.
Habitat for Humanity ReStore: Habitat for Humanity ReStore will be closed for shopping, donation drop-off and purchase pick-up through April 6. All volunteer opportunities in the ReStore during this time period have been halted.
Huntingburg Senior Center: Closed until further notice.
Indiana Volunteer Firefighters Association District 18: The meeting scheduled for Thursday, May 19, has been canceled.
Ireland Sportsman Club: The membership fish fry scheduled for March 27 has been canceled.
Jasper Chamber of Commerce: All events have been canceled until further notice.
Junior Achievement Dubois County Business Hall of Fame: The sixth annual Junior Achievement Dubois County Business Hall of Fame scheduled for May 7 has been postponed. A new date has not been determined.
Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial: The visitor center is closed until further notice. Where it is possible to adhere to the latest health guidance of social distancing, visitors are invited to enjoy the hiking trails in the park.
Lounge Series, Season 8: Sessions scheduled for April 2, 16 and 30 have been postponed until fall. Specific dates have not been set.
Medication collection day: The spring medication collection day scheduled for April 25 have been canceled. Once the Drug Enforcement Administration announces their date for the fall collection, that information will be released to the local community. Although the Huntingburg and Jasper Police Stations have accepted pharmaceuticals 24/7 in their drop boxes located at 503 E. 1st St. and 309 E. 6th St. respectively, it is recommended calling ahead to ensure that service is available. Memorial Hospital classes: Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center has canceled or postponed all classes, support groups, events and employer/community group health screenings through April 3. Classes and events beyond this date will be evaluated pending state recommendations at that time. If you have any questions, call Memorial Hospital at 812-996-2345.
Mentors for Youth — Super Strikes: Mentors for Youth’s signature fundraiser, Super Strikes, has been held for over 30 years, and the organization intends to host the event in 2020, but the date is uncertain. “We are encouraging teams to still register,” Executive Director Ellen Corn, said. “Teams can still register and fundraise online. We have a new online fundraising platform that makes fundraising easier than it has been in the past.” Teams can register online at www.mentors4youth.com and donations to teams can also be made online at https://givebutter.com/super-strikes-2020.
Michael Oeding Memorial Youth Turkey Seminar: The Michael Oeding Memorial Youth Turkey Seminar scheduled for April 4 at the Ireland Sportsmen’s Club has been canceled.
Networking event: The Dubois County Chamber’s first networking event scheduled for Wednesday, March 18, has been postponed.
Older American Center, Jasper: all scheduled activities — including bingo, catered meals and exercise classes — are canceled through Friday, April 3. The casino trip scheduled for Wednesday is postponed until May 13.
Paper Shredding Day: The free paper shredding event scheduled for April 3 in the south parking lot of St. Joseph Catholic Church has been canceled.

Pfaffenweiler trip: The Jasper Partnership Commission and the Pfaffenweiler Partnership Commission have cooperatively made the decision to postpone the 35th Anniversary trip to Pfaffenweiler, scheduled for June 2020. It will be rescheduled for 2021.
Rummage sale: The rummage sale scheduled for Thursday through Saturday, March 26 to 28, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church has been postponed.
Shiloh United Methodist Church, Jasper: The spring celebration scheduled for April 4 has been postponed. The new date has not been determined.
Sisters of St. Benedict: The Sisters of St. Benedict are closing their Liturgy of the Hours and Masses to the public until further notice. In addition, the Benedictine Hospitality Center will not house guests for at least 30 days; all tours inside the monastery, guided or self-guided, are suspended until May 12; the Monastery Gift Shop is closed until further notice, but online orders and shipments are still available through monasterygiftshop.org; the Way of the Cross scheduled for March 28 and Spirituality in the Different Stages of Life planned for April 28 have been canceled; the Spring Fest set for April 25 has been postponed until a date later in the fall; and the entrance into the monastery is restricted to essential visitors only, after passing screening at the reception desk. Suicide Prevention QPR training session: The Suicide Prevention QPR training session scheduled for March 31 at St. James Lutheran Church, Holland, has been posponed. The training session will be rescheduled in May.
Traditional Arts Today, Ferdinand: The sewing class for beginners scheduled for March 21 and rug hooking class set for March 28 have been canceled.
Women Empowering Women: The event planned for April 8 has been postponed. A new date has not been determined.
