Bullish On The Mural

Jenny Fritz Wahl of Lincoln City, left, and her cousin Lisa Marie Thalhammer of Washington, D.C. were photographed by Rock Emmert of Ferdinand as they worked Monday in Ferdinand on the mural that will depict the story of Ferdinand the Bull. Thalhammer is trying to paint as much of the mural as possible this month and will return in the spring to finish it. “I love engaging with the community while I’m painting,” Thalhammer said. The mural is being painted on the side of the antique store and woodworking shop at the corner of 15th and Main streets owned by her cousin Keith Fritz.

Thalhammer leaned through scaffolding to paint the mural Monday.
Emmert watched as Wahl and Thalhammer worked on mural Monday. Emmert helped bring the mural concept to the town council in September.
Emmert and Thalhammer discussed the artistic rendering of the mural Monday.
