BRETZVILLE — A small brush fire spread to dried grass Friday evening south of the Bretzville Junction, drawing a response by the St. Anthony Volunteer Fire Department.
Fire Chief Scott Uebelhor said a small brush pile had been burned early Friday at the John Deel residence at 5581 S. State Road 162. It became a reportable brush fire at 6:02 p.m.
Uebelhor said about 1 acre of dry grass and vegetation burned but firefighters halted the blaze before it reached a thicket to the south.
No injuries were reported and there was no damage.
Three trucks and 15 firefighters were on the scene 30 minutes.
