Braun should meet with minimum wage workers

To the editor:

I recommend the Facebook page of U.S. Sen Mike Braun.

It's uncomplicated, but newsy. Braun tends to pick a topic and stick with it. For months, he was all about advocating the overthrow of our recent presidential election. Then, on Jan. 6, he abruptly dropped that topic and took up warning of the grave dangers of increasing minimum wage. Hoosier minimum wage is $2.13 per hour for waitpersons and $7.25 per hour for others. Democrats want to use federal law to raise this minimum incrementally, over several years, to $12 or $15 per hour, still within the federal poverty level. Braun warns any increase would devastate Hoosier small business.

He's traveling the state, meeting with groups of restaurant owners discussing ways to block any increase. You know, who Braun is not meeting with? He's not meeting with any groups of the employees of the restaurant owners. I challenge Sen. Braun to meet with some of the minimum wage workers, and explain his position to them.
