Book sale is Saturday

FERDINAND — The Friends of the Ferdinand Library will have their monthly second Saturday basement book sale from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, July 13. The sale can be entered from either the library’s main floor or through the north side doors off the Ferdinand Community Center parking lot.

This month’s theme is “Christmas in July.” Christmas cookbooks, craft books, novels, children’s and teen books, and puzzles will be featured on special tables.

The Friends have received a large donation of children’s books since the last sale. Also donated were a nice selection of adult fiction and non-fiction books and puzzles. The library has placed a receptacle for donations near the basement doors. Biographies, history, self-help, spiritual, Westerns, Classics, popular authors, true-life crime, landscaping, and cookbooks are available for purchase. Bingo books for Pine Ridge students and recommended authors for summer reading for Cedar Crest students are available.

Hardback books are $1, paperbacks are 50 cents, and puzzles and children’s books vary in price. A table of first edition books, books that are signed by the author and other specially-priced books are located on a separate table. All proceeds go towards adult, teen and children’s programming.

Donations of gently-used books and puzzles are welcomed. Donations should be marked as going to the Friends. Membership pamphlets are available at the front desk and at the sale.
