Bombers to meet Flash in semis

By Herald Staff

The Dubois County Bombers led the Ohio Valley League's North Division for almost the entirety of the 2021 season before the Flash came in and pried first place away from them. Now, the Bombers (28-18) have their chance to get past the Flash and into this year's championship series. This became possible when the Bombers swept the Owensboro RiverDawgs with a 4-2 win Saturday in Owensboro. Southridge grad Tucker Schank was 3-for-4 with a run scored, RBI and walk. Tyler Wheeler struck out six over seven innings to earn the victory.

Meanwhile, the Flash completed a sweep of their own on Saturday following a 7-4 triumph over the Madisonville Miners. The first game is set for 7:30 p.m. at Henderson's Park Field. If the Bombers win Monday, they could advance to the championship round if they win the second game, which is set for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at League Stadium.

If necessary, the decisive third game would be 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Park Field.
