Bombers remain undefeated

It required working a little extra, but the Dubois County Bombers are still perfect.

The Bombers remained unbeaten through their first three games with an 8-6, 10-inning victory over the Marion Bobcats on Tuesday evening at Marion City Park in Kentucky. Dubois County (3-0) trailed 5-0 after five innings but scored three runs in the sixth and one each in the seventh, eighth and ninth innings before pushing two across in the 10th.

Jacob Armstrong and Dan Schmidt were each hit with a pitch in the 10th, and Shain Showers and Eric McKibban each provided run-scoring singles; all eight of the Bombers’ hits were singles. Andre Davis and Garret Gordan each finished with two hits, while Bo Ausmus registered two runs scored. Eric McKibban drove in two runs for the Bombers

Pike Central High School graduate Clint Chestnut (1-0) struck out five while tossing a scoreless ninth and 10th inning for Dubois County, which hosts Marion (0-3) tonight at 7:15 at League Stadium.
