Bombers offense explodes in win

From Herald Staff Reports

They say hitting is contagious and for the Dubois County Bombers, that proved to be true. The Bombers racked up 20 hits en route to an 11-3 victory in Paducah on Thursday evening.

The Bombers jumped out to an early 8-1 lead after the third inning and never looked back from there as Dubois County has now a league-high five straight games but with Owensboro’s victory on Thursday night, the Bombers still sit a half game behind the first place RiverDawgs in the standings.

Four players had three hits or more for the Bombers (Cooper Trinkle, Evan Aders and Ben Wilcoxson all had three while John McDonald led the way with four hits) while the majority of the RBIs came from Nick Gonzales who drove in three runs.

Jacob Frankel got the victory on the mound for the Bombers to improve his record to 3-1 on the season. He had four strikeouts in five innings while giving up five hits and one earned run.
