Bombers fall in season finaleJuly 19, 2018
From Herald Staff Reports
With their postseason seed already set, the Dubois County Bombers experimented with a different lineup and some players in new positions in their 6-3 loss to Owensboro on Wednesday night.
Players who usually spend their time on the mound got to play elsewhere such as second base (Evan Sankey), third base (Jack Anderson), left field (Evan Hall), right field (Ryan Luckett) and even behind the backstop (Sam Mudd).
A few players who don’t normally pitch got the opportunity to do so as well as Nolan Ramsey and John McDonald got their first opportunities of the season to pitch. McDonald and Ramsey both struck out two batters each but Ramsey also gave three earned runs.
Hall was the lone Bomber with multiple hits while also driving in a run. Mudd and Jaxson Blair drove in the other Bomber runs.
Dubois County’s postseason play will begin Friday night at League Stadium against the Henderson Flash at 7 p.m.
