Bombers drop road contest

From Herald Staff Reports

The Dubois County Bombers jumped out to an early lead 2-0 lead Wednesday night in Greenville but were outscored 7-1 the rest of the way as the Muhlenberg County Stallions rallied for a 7-3 victory.

Dubois County struck first by scoring on a bases loaded walk and then an RBI from Chase Hug quickly put the Bombers ahead 2-0. The Stallions scored three runs in the bottom of the 5th to take a 4-2 lead and they never relinquished it from there.

The Bombers trimmed the lead to 4-3 on a wild pitch in the top of the 6th but wouldn’t be able to score again as the Stallions scored three more runs in the eighth inning to add insurance to the lead.

Easton Stewart was the only Bomber to have multiple hits as he finished 2-for-3 with an RBI. Patrick Queener took the loss on the mound.
