BIRDSEYE — The Birdseye Branch Library has several activities planned for March.
The book club for adults and high school students will be held from 4 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, March 5. The book, “Black Elk Speaks” by author John Neihardt will be discussed. “The Secret Keeper” by Kate Morton is the book choice that will be handed out for April discussion. Newcomers are always welcome to join the group which meets the first Tuesday of each month. Extra copies of the current book are available at the Birdseye Library.
An art class for home-schooled students will meet from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Thursdays, March 7 and 21. Students will be focusing on a St. Patrick’s project and working with STEM projects. The class will meet on the first and third Thursday of each month through May. STEM will be introduced into the classroom this semester. Get ready for the robots. Preregistration is required due to limited space.
Saturday at the movies for kids will start at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 9. The featured movie will be “Leprechaun Tales.” Popcorn and a drink will be available.
Toddler Tuesday will take place at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 12. A staff member will help the littles make a St. Patrick’s Day craft and play a game of farm yard bingo. Parents are asked to bring a change of clothes or bring their children in play clothes.
Storytime and crafts will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. Thursday, March 14. Children of all ages are invited to listen to a staff member as she reads a Leprechaun story and helps the children with a foam shamrock wreath craft kit. A snack will be provided.
Saturday kids’ craft time will start at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 16. Join a staff member in making a leprechaun pot of gold treat cup. Refreshments will be served. Saturday at the Movies 2 will start at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 23. The “Nutcracker” is the featured movie, and is rated PG. A show for teens and tweens will be held on the fourth Saturday of each month. Popcorn and a drink will be served.
An adult craft club will meet from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 26. Join a staff member as she leads the adults in making an Easter egg button craft. Refreshments will be served. Preregistration is required.
A nurse will be available for free blood pressure checks every Thursday in December from 2 to 4 p.m.
