BIRDSEYE — The Birdseye Branch Library has several activities planned for February.
The book club for adults and high school students will be held from 4 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4. “Air Raid Nights and Radio Days” by Don Schroeder will be handed out. Newcomers are always welcome to join the group which meets the first Tuesday of each month. Extra copies of the current book are available at the library.
An art class for home-schooled students will start back up on Thursday, Feb. 6. Valentine- and winter-related art projects will be made. The class will meet from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Thursdays of each month through May. Registration is required due to limited space.
Saturday at the movies for kids will start at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 8. A featured movie for children that is rated G or PG will be shown on the second Saturday of each month. Popcorn and a drink will be available.
Toddler Tuesday will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11. Join a staff member as she helps the littles sing songs, read books and for a craft she will have different ways of incorporating the alphabet each month into her crafts. Parents are to send along a change of clothes or bring toddlers in play clothes.
Storytime and crafts will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 13. Children of all ages are invited to listen to a staff member read a Valentine story and decorate Valentine cookies. Children under the age of 8 are required to have an adult present. Preregistration is requested.
Saturday kids’ craft time will take place from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15. Join a staff member in making a heart string art craft. All supplies will be provided. Register for this class online or by calling the library.
Family night of bingo will begin at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18. Prizes will be won as a staff member calls off bingo. Pizza and drinks will be available. Preregistration is required.
Saturday at the Movies 2 will start at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 22. A movie for teens and tweens will be shown on the fourth Saturday of each month. Popcorn and a drink will be available. Movies are rated PG to PG13.
An adult craft club for adults will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25. A scrabble family plaque is the featured craft this month. A snack and drink will be provided. Preregistration is required.
February is American Heart Month. A nurse will be available for free blood pressure checks each Thursday in February from 2 to 4 p.m.
