BIRDSEYE — The Birdseye Branch Library has several activities planned for April.
The book club for adults and high school students will be held from 4 to 5 p.m. Tuesday,
April 2. The book, “The Secret Keeper,” by author Kate Morton will be discussed. “Still Alice” by Lisa Genova is the book choice that will be handed out for May discussion. Newcomers are always welcome to join the group which meets the first Tuesday of each month. Extra copies of the current book are available at the library.
An art class for home-schooled students will meet from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Thursdays, March 7 and 21. Students will be focusing on spring-related projects. The class meets on the first and third Thursday of each month through May. Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathemathics will be introduced into the classroom this semester. Get ready for the robots. Preregistration is required.
Toddler Tuesday will take place at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 9. A staff member will help the littles make an Easter craft and play some games. Each toddler will receive an Easter board book and a stuffed bunny. Parents are asked to bring a change of clothes or bring their children in play clothes.
Storytime and crafts will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. Thursday, April 11. Children of all ages are invited to listen to a staff member as she reads an Easter story and helps the children with a spring craft. A snack will be provided.
Saturday at the Movies for kids will start at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 13. “It’s the Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown” is the featured movie, and is rated PG. Popcorn and a drink will be served.
Saturday kids’ craft time will start at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 20. Join a staff member in making a spring-time craft. Refreshments will be served. Preregistration is requested and children under the age of 8 must bring an adult to help with the craft.
An adult craft club will meet from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 23. Join a staff member as she leads the adults in making a spring-time craft. Refreshments will be served. Preregistration is required.
Saturday at the Movies 2 will start at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 27. “A Dog’s Way Home” is the featured movie this month, and is rated PG. The library will show a movie for teens and tweens on the fourth Saturday of each month. Popcorn and a drink will be served.
Family night bingo starts at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 30. Prizes will be won as a staff member calls off bingo numbers. Snacks and drinks will be served. Preregistration is required.
A nurse will be available for free blood pressure checks every Thursday in April from 2 to 4 p.m.
