Birdseye highway set for sealingMay 19, 2020
From Local Sources
BIRDSEYE — Seal coat operations are set to roll forward next week on State Road 145, from Birdseye’s town limits to I-64.
The new driving surface will be laid beginning on or around Tuesday, May 26, and work is expected to last two days. During the operation, only local traffic will have access, according to the Indiana Department of Transportation.
Seal coating is designed to extend the life of the pavement below for three to five years, according to INDOT. For every dollar spent on seal coating, taxpayers save $6 to $14 in future road rehabilitation and construction costs, according to the state highway department.
