Bettyann Abell, 76, Birdseye, died at 7:40 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013, at Northwood Retirement Community in Jasper.
She was born in Dubois County on May 13, 1937, to Oscar Marion and Erma Bell (Baker) Atkins. Her husband, Maurice Lee “Huck” Abell, died June 29, 2004.
Surviving are a sister, Marian Louise Angerer of Jasper, and four nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Rosa A. Nicholson.
Mrs. Abell enjoyed sewing, crocheting, knitting and perusing cookbooks. She was a graduate of Birdseye High School and a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Jasper.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg. Burial will be in Birdseye Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
