Betty J. Wiederkehr, 86, Saint Meinrad
January 4, 2021Betty J. Wiederkehr, 86, of Saint Meinrad passed away Friday January 1, 2021 at Scenic Hills at the Monastery in Ferdinand. Betty was born July 29, 1934 in Mariah Hill to Albert Sr. and Blanche (Hollander) Gogel. She was united in marriage to Joseph R. Wiederkehr on September 1, 1952 in Saint Meinrad.

Betty was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Mary Help Of Christians Church. She was a homemaker, and enjoyed baking and spending time with her family.
Surviving are her husband of 68 years, Joseph R. Wiederkehr. Three sons, Gerald (Sue) Wiederkehr, and Kelvin Wiederkehr both of St. Meinrad, Michael (Lorri) Wiederkehr of Evansville. Five daughters, Janice (Paul) Wessel of Jasper, Sue (Kenny) Rickelman of Lamar, Doris (Glenn) Niehaus of St. Meinrad, Sheila (Scott) Aldridge of Ferdinand, and Barbara (Ronnie) Kessens of Siberia. Seventeen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. One brother, Albert Gogel Jr. of Mariah Hill. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Claude, Robert, Elmer, Ralph, Chester, Kenneth Gogel and two brothers in infancy. Three sisters, Marcella Graman, Julietta Burger and one in infancy.
Services were held at Monday January 4, 2021 in Mary Help Of Christians Church, with burial in the church cemetery. Online condolences may be shared at www.becherfuneralhome.com.
