Best Home Furnishings awards scholarships

FERDINAND — Best Home Furnishings recently awarded scholarships to five dependent children of full-time employees.

Winners of the academic scholarships were selected by the Dubois County Community Foundation. Four $4,000 scholarships were awarded for a four-year degree and one $2,000 scholarship was awarded for a two-year degree.

 

Levi Allinger, son of Jason Allinger and Erica and Ryan Scherzinger of Leavenworth, graduated from Crawford County High School. His father is employed by the Chair Division, Upholstery Department. Allinger plans to attend the University of Southern Indiana.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Lauren Bueltel, daughter of Phil Bueltel and Gwen Bueltel of Mariah Hill, graduated from Heritage Hills High School. Her mother works in the Sofa Division, Sewing Department. Bueltel plans to attend Western Kentucky University.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Austin Knies, son of Chris and Sandy Knies of Ferdinand, graduated from Forest Park High School. His mother works in the Chair Division, Sewing Department. Knies plans to attend Ball State University.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Maria Sermersheim, daughter of Keith and Connie Sermersheim of Evansville, graduated from Reitz Memorial High School. His father serves as general council for the company. Sermersheim plans to attend the University of Notre Dame.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Shaylynn Smith, daughter of Troy and Tammy Smith of Fulda, graduated from Heritage Hills High School. Her mother is employed as a billing clerk. Smith plans to attend the University of Southern Indiana.
