Benefits of membership in Legion greater than dues
December 4, 2013To the editor:
Call to duty: This is an open invitation to all local veterans. I am asking you to join the American Legion, specifically Jasper Post 147. We will host a national membership drive in January. Now is the time to join the American Legion. Most veterans know of all the various activities we are involved in — everything from youth flag education to military funerals. The price of membership is very low compared to the benefits gained by joining. If you are a former member or a member who has not yet paid your dues, please sign up now in order for us to help you and the community. You can contact us at the Jasper American Legion or contact me or our adjutant.
—Alan W. Matheis, Commander
American Legion Post 147, Jasper
