Benefit announced for boy battling cancer

SANTA CLAUS — A benefit for Aden Stephens, 6, is being planned from 1 to 9 p.m. CT Saturday, Feb. 16, in the upstairs of Santa Claus American Legion Post 242.

Aden has been battling cancer since he was about 1 1/2 years old. He is the son of Lydia (Gentry) Stephens and Aaron Stephens

Aden has been battling stage 4, high-risk, relapsed, Neuroblastoma for over 4 years.

The fundraiser will help with the ongoing treatments.

The day will include chicken dinners, provided through a collaboration of The Chateau and the Santa Claus Legion, as well as a bake sale, which both will be sold from 1 p.m. CT until the food is sold out.

A silent auction also will begin at 1 p.m. CT, with bidding ending at 5 p.m. CT.

Live music will begin at 1:30 p.m., and there will be a cover charge of $10 per person, with those age 12 and under free. Music will include Debbie Schuetter, Ryan Pfeifer, Evie Mae and Dirty Trixx.

Alcohol also will be available, so bring identification.
