Basement book sale slated

FERDINAND — The Friends of the Ferdinand Branch Library will have a basement book sale from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 8.

Customers may enter the sales from the main floor of the Ferdinand Branch Library or from the north side doors off the Ferdinand Community Center parking lot.

A variety of books for Father’s Day, summer sports and recreation, landscaping and cooking along with Ferdinand Elementary’s Summer Reading Program, Pine Ridge’s Bingo books and Cedar Crest’s list of books by recommended authors will be available. In addition, tables and shelves have been restocked with new donations of gently-used hardback. The table of special books has new additions.

All hardback books are $1; paperbacks are 50 cents. Prices for children’s books, puzzles and special books vary. All proceeds go towards adult, teen and children’s programming such as the Tyler Watson Canvas Painting Class for adults and the Clint Jivoin Solar Survival Program for teens and adults this month. The Friends also are providing four prize baskets for the summer learning program.

Donations of gently-used books and puzzles are greatly appreciated. Donations may be brought to the library at any time. Mark donations for the Friends. Membership pamphlets are available at the sale and at the library’s front desk.
