Basement book sale is Saturday

FERDINAND — The Friends of the Ferdinand Library will host their Saturday basement book sale from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14. Those who attend are asked to enter the sale from the main floor of the library or through the north side doors off the Ferdinand Community Center parking lot.

This month, the library’s collection of Christmas books will be displayed. Children’s books, holiday cookbooks, decorating and craft books, inspirational books and Christmas novels will be available. Another special drawing for holiday books will be held.

Favorite authors and/or nonfiction books are available. Tables displayed with newly donated fiction hardback and softback books are alphabetized by author. If there is a special author or a specific nonfiction topic that buyers are looking for, just ask a Friend at the sale for assistance.

Newly donated children’s, tweens and young adult books will be displayed. There also will be large donation of books by Linda Lael Miller and Debbie Macomber available for sale. There are several newly donated puzzles and games, along with DVDs. Books on CDs by favorite authors are available. The special table of first editions, author-signed and extremely nice books is teeming with new additions.

All hardback books are $1; paperbacks are $.50; and children’s books, puzzles, games and special books are variously priced. Donations of gently-used books and puzzles are always appreciated and welcomed. The new receptacle near the basement door for donated items has been full of books weekly.  All profits go toward adult, children and teen activities at the library.

Anyone interested in joining the Friends of the Ferdinand Library for $10 per year can pick up a membership pamphlet and information at the sale and the main library desk. Follow the “Friends of the Ferdinand Library” on Facebook page for weekly information about library activities and sales.
