Baseball, softball skills competition set in Jasper

JASPER — Jasper Youth Baseball will host a Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit & Run competition Sunday, May 7, starting at noon at the Jasper Youth Sports Complex. Pitch, Hit & Run is the official skills comptition of MLB, and it is free and open to all youth. Boys and girls will be divided into four age divisions for baseball and softball (age 7 and 8; age 9 and 10; age 11 and 12; age 13 and 14) and have the chance to compete through four levels of comptition, including team championships at MLB parks and the national finals during the MLB All-Star week. The individual pitching, hitting and running champions, along with the all-around champ in each age group, will be awarded and advance to the sectional level of competition.

All participants must bring a copy of their birth certificate and have a parent or guardian fill out a registration and waiver form prior to the competition. For more information, call Jason Stamm at 812-630-5760.
