Autumn Fischer and Nicholas Lucas

An outdoor ceremony at the Schaeffer Barn in Jasper united in marriage Autumn Fischer and Nicholas Lucas, both of Jasper. Nathaniel Rivers officiated at the double ring rites at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 3, 2014.

The bride is the daughter of Bill and Marilyn Fischer of Jasper and Faye Fischer of St. Anthony. Mr. Lucas is the son of Harold and Helen Stillwell of Birdseye.

Aaron Filkins played the guitar as Amanda Verkamp sang “Make You Feel My Love,” “God Gave Me You,” “Once in a Lifetime,” “Ave Maria,” “Marry Me” and “Amazing Grace.”

Readers were Ken Wahl of Newburgh, godfather of the bride, and Richard Stillwell of Evansville, brother of the bridegroom.

Jan Stratton of Jasper, friend of the bride, was matron of honor. Kadance Lucas of Jasper, daughter of the bridegroom, was flower girl.

Mr. Lucas chose a friend, Josh Meyer of St. Anthony, as best man. Henry Fischer of Celestine, nephew of the bride, was ring bearer.

The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a strapless, full-length gown of cascading chiffon with a belt studded with crystals. She wore a silk flower in her hair and carried a bouquet of ivory roses, hens and chicks, green spider mums and green carnation balls.

The matron of honor was attired in a full-length, strapless gown of plum chiffon with a sweetheart neckline and a draped overskirt. She carried a bouquet similar to the bride’s. The flower girl wore a full-length, sleeveless dress with a plum satin waistline and bow and rhinestones on the skirt. She carried a basket of ivory rose petals that she dropped as she walked down the aisle
The bride’s mother wore a floor-length navy dress with a sparkly jacket. The bridegroom’s mother chose a knee-length blue dress. The bride’s stepmother wore a knee-length black dress.
A reception followed at The Polo Room in Jasper.

The couple is residing in Jasper after a wedding trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

The bride graduated from Forest Park High School in Ferdinand in 1998 and studied communications at the University of Southern Indiana in Evansville. She is a customer service representative for MasterBrand Cabinets. Mr. Lucas, also a 1998 graduate of Forest Park High School, attended Vincennes University for business management. He is employed by the Indiana Army National Guard and is a member of the Jasper Fire Department.
