CELESTINE — Authorities have issued an update on a Saturday, Feb. 15, rollover and ejection crash on Celestine’s east side.
The Dubois County Sheriff’s Office has identified the driver in the 10 p.m. accident on State Road 164 500 feet west of De La Hailandiere Street as 18-year-old Alec B. Hostetter of Celestine.
A caller reporting the crash said the yellow 2003 Chevrolet ZR5 S10 driven by Hostetter rolled multiple times, ejecting the driver. Paramedics and Celestine Volunteer Fire Department first responders treated Hostetter at the scene before he was transported by ambulance to Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center.
Hostetter was then airlifted to an Evansville hospital.
Police say Hostetter suffered a concussion, a skull fracture and other minor injuries. He is now home and doing well, according to police.
Although authorities originally reported in a media release that alcohol may have been a factor, police now say blood testing was negative for alcohol and drugs.
Indiana State Police, a Uebelhor & Sons wrecker and Memorial Hospital Emergency Medical Services assisted.
