Auditions announced for ‘Torn Apart’

FERDINAND — First and Last Theater Productions will hold auditions for “Torn Apart” at the Ferdinand Branch Library from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 10 and 11.

Performances will be held on the last weekend in April and the first weekend in May in the Jasper Middle School auditorium.

In the play, the United States is on the brink of the Civil War. A southern family is peacefully enjoying life as they know it and not expecting any changes in their daily routine. Yet, what will happen to them when the country decides it’s time to change?

Those planning to audition are asked to prepare a 1 to 1:20 minute vocal selection. They also may bring any dates and times that they are unable to rehearse. No previous theatre experience is required.

There also are opportunities to work behind the scenes, including stage manager, light and sound operator and set construction.
