ARTventures begins in JuneApril 16, 2019
JASPER — Jasper Community Arts announce a summer of fun with the arts. A variety of classes are available for ages pre-kindergarten through senior as well as adults.
Visual ARTventures will be offered for five weeks this summer — June 3-7, June 10-14, June 17-21, June 24-28 and July 15-19. Classes being offered in clay include Handbuilding Clay and Middle School Clay for students in grades one through eight. A clay class focused on learning clay together will be offered to adult and children pairs of ages 6 and older. The printing/painting classes consist of Paint Your Own Canvas, Printmaking and Canvas Painting. Classes offered in drawing include Drawing Methods and Explore Drawing Media.
Music ARTventures includes two classes of Kids Music and Literacy, which will be open to students going into grades prekindergarden and one.
A free Magic Yarn Project class will take place in the evening on July 9. The class is open to student and adult participants willing to volunteer their time creating homespun wigs for little cancer fighters.
Both morning and afternoon visual arts classes will be offered at the Satellite Arts Space (located in the basement of the Jasper Pool, 1405 Bartley St.). Music classes will be held at the Jasper Arts Center. Cost of classes vary.
In the adult ARTventures, high school students and adults will participate in an array of oil painting, watercolor and clay classes. Classes will take place throughout June and July. Classes offered include Wheel Throwing for Beginners, Advanced Wheel Throwing, Oil Painting and Watercolor. Classes will take place at the Satellite Arts Space.
Classes are held at the Satellite Arts Space in the basement of the Jasper pool. Registration deadline for June classes will be Friday, May 24, and Friday, June 28, for July classes.
There will be no classes for adults or kids the week of July 1 through 5.
