JASPER — A report of a leaving-the-scene accident Tuesday resulted in a Pike County woman’s arrest.
The Jasper Police Department was notified of a hit-and-run accident at 12th and Mill streets at 3:08 p.m.
Police located the 1998 Chevrolet Lumina alleged to have been involved at 13th and Vine streets. Officers alleged the driver, Samantha J. McDaniel, 43, Velpen, was impaired and driving on a suspended license.
McDaniel’s blood alcohol content tested .13% in a certified chemical test at the Jasper Police Station.
Authorities booked McDaniel into the Dubois County Security Center at 5:53 p.m. on preliminary misdemeanor counts of operating while intoxicated, operating while intoxicated (endangerment) and driving while suspended (prior). She was given a conditional release early today.
A Uebelhor & Sons wrecker assisted during the incident.
