DUBOIS — Authorities accused a man of domestic battery and impaired driving after a report early Tuesday of a domestic dispute south of Dubois.
Dubois County Sheriff’s Department deputies responding to the 12:20 a.m. report said they made contact with Zachary S. Hulsman, 26, 8208 S. Schnell Road, Birdseye, in the 4600 block of East Jasper-Dubois Road.
Hulsman was reportedly staggering while headed back to his running Pontiac Grand Am.
He was alleged to have grabbed and pushed a female victim and to have slapped a cellphone out of her hand, according to authorities.
The victim was transported by private vehicle for treatment of neck pain, according to the sheriff’s department.
Deputies say Hulsman’s blood alcohol content tested .179 percent on a portable breath test.
Authorities booked Hulsman into the Dubois County Security Center at 2 a.m. on preliminary misdemeanor counts of operating while intoxicated and domestic battery. He posted bond Tuesday afternoon.
