From Local Sources

JASPER — A Jasper man was booked into jail following a Saturday evening traffic stop.

The Jasper Police Department stopped a 2007 Ford Focus driven by Larry D. Leavens, 49, 339 Jackson St., Jasper, at 7:05 p.m. near 14th and Jackson streets because the car’s registration was allegedly expired.

During the stop, it was determined Leavens’ driver’s license was suspended and he had a prior conviction for driving while suspended.

Authorities booked Leavens into the Dubois County Security Center at 8 p.m. on a preliminary misdemeanor count of driving while suspended (prior). He posted bond a short time later.
