Arrest follows reports of intoxicated driving

JASPER — Police placed a man under arrest Monday evening after receiving two separate calls regarding a possible intoxicated driver traveling northbound on U.S. 231 near Rural King in Jasper.
Officers attempted to stop the Ford F-150, however, it continued northbound until ultimately coming to a stop in the parking lot of Freedom Bank, 75 U.S. 231.
After determining that Chris Ferguson, 53, Huntingburg, was intoxicated, Jasper Police Department officers transported him to Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center, where he submitted to a certified chemical test. Tests showed Ferguson had a blood alcohol content of .235%.
He was transported to the Dubois County Security Center, where he was booked on a Level 5 felony charge for operating while intoxicated with an BAC of more than .15, with a prior conviction; a Level 6 felony charge for resisting law enforcement using a vehicle; a Class A misdemeanor charge for operating while intoxicated and endangering a person; and a Class C misdemeanor charge for operating while intoxicated.
