HOLLAND — Police made an arrest after responding to a report late Friday night about a possibly impaired driver.
The call at 11:24 p.m. indicated a suspected impaired driver was northbound on State Road 161. The caller lost sight of the car after it turned westbound on County Road 800S north of Holland.
A Dubois County Sheriff’s Office deputy checking into the report located a 2007 Chrysler 300 in a ditch at county roads 750W and 800S.
Police said Sharena S. Knight, 35, 92 W. Third St., Birdseye, appeared passed out in the driver’s seat. Her blood alcohol content later tested .21% at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center, according to the sheriff’s office.
Authorities booked Knight into the Dubois County Security Center at 1:36 a.m. Saturday on a preliminary misdemeanor count of operating while intoxicated. She was released on her own recognizance Saturday afternoon.
A Uebelhor & Sons wrecker assisted at the accident scene.
