JASPER — A Tuesday report of a physical domestic altercation resulted in a man’s arrest on multiple preliminary charges.
The Jasper Police Department began an investigation after a female victim came to the police station. Police noted the victim had visible injury that was documented with photographs.
In addition to the battery report, police said, the victim also alleged the suspect, Tyler E. Griffith, 35, 1606 Newton St., Jasper, exerted unauthorized control of her bank card, making withdrawals of $100 and $200.
Police located, interviewed and arrested Griffith, who was booked into the Dubois County Security Center at 12:01 a.m. today on preliminary charges that included a Level 6 felony count of strangulation and misdemeanor counts of domestic battery and theft.
