Arrest follows physical altercation callJuly 8, 2019

JASPER — Police took a woman into custody after being notified of a physical altercation that had just occurred Saturday afternoon.
The 5 p.m. call sent units of the Jasper Police Department to the 300 block of East Fifth Street.
Authorities say officers determined Kristina M. Lewis, 34, 311 E. Fifth St., Jasper, had battered her spouse at the location.
Lewis allegedly became combative and belligerent when speaking with officers and had to be forcefully removed from the apartment. Once outside, police report, Lewis attempted to kick officers multiple times and continued to yell obscenities.
Police took Lewis to Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center for medical clearance because her blood alcohol content tested .29% on a portable breath test.
Authorities then booked Lewis into the Dubois County Security Center at 7:46 p.m. on preliminary misdemeanor counts of domestic battery, resisting law enforcement and disorderly conduct.
