Arrest follows overnight no-headlights traffic stop

JASPER — Police arrested a Vanderburgh County man early today after stopping the vehicle he was driving because its headlights were not on at 2:45 a.m.


The Huntingburg Police Department conducted the traffic stop at Sixth and Chestnut streets.

The officer then reported locating a small amount of a crystalline substance in the vehicle the field tested positive as methamphetamine.

Authorities booked Cory M. Stevens, 28, Evansville, into the Dubois County Security Center at 3:48 a.m. on a preliminary Level 6 felony count of possession of methamphetamine.
