From Local Sources

FERDINAND — A Friday afternoon traffic stop along I-64 west of the Ferdinand exit sent a Kentucky motorist to jail.

An Indiana State Police trooper stopped a westbound vehicle at the 61.5-mile marker at 1:45 p.m. after clocking it at 84 mph in the 70 mph zone.

After smelling the odor of burnt marijuana, the trooper allegedly found the driver Jazniece S. Rodriguez, 23, Frankfort, Kentucky, in possession of marijuana and a marijuana grinder.

Authorities booked Rodriguez into the Dubois County Security Center at 3:16 p.m. on preliminary counts of possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia. She posted bond Friday evening.
