Arrest follows court case no-show

JASPER — A woman who failed to appear for a couple of court dates regarding misdemeanor charges was brought to jail Thursday afternoon on a warrant issued after her latest no-show.

Susan R. Baize, 40, 569 E. Spencer County Road 1500N, Gentryville, was charged with misdemeanor marijuana possession and possession of paraphernalia, plus ticketed for driving without insurance, in May after a Huntingburg-area traffic stop by the Dubois County Sheriff’s Department.

She was cited into Dubois Superior Court but a warrant was issued for her arrest Oct. 16 when, on that day, the judge noted it was the second time she failed to appear for a court date related to the charges.

The sheriff’s department retrieved Baize from Spencer County on the active Dubois County warrant Thursday and booked her into the Dubois County Security Center at 2:02 p.m.
