Area golfers compete at IHSAA regionalJune 6, 2019

Thursday marked the end of the season for several local golfers.
Jasper, Heritage Hills and Forest Park’s Colin Lane all competed at the IHSAA regional tournament at Champions Pointe Golf Course in Henryville but unfortunately no one was able to advance to the state tournament.
Center Grove (291), Floyd Central (301), and Columbus North (303) were the three advancing teams to state while Franklin Community’s Damon Dickey, Bedford North Lawrence’s Ethan Stanley, Corydon Central’s Joe Wiseman, Bloomington South’s Drew Todd and Bloomington North’s Evan Todd all advanced as individuals.
Jasper was the highest placing local team as they finished 12th overall out of 18 teams with a score of 349.
Jack Bies led the Cats with an 80 while Avery Hollinden fired an 84, Landon Kissel shot an 86, Luke Ackerman finished with a 99 and Nick Buechlein rounded things out with a 108.
Heritage Hills finished 14th overall at the regional tournament with a score of 353.
Ethan Kane and Rylan Cox both finished with 85’s for the Patriots while Josh Nelson shot a 91 and Mitch Blasdel and Carter Cox both ended up with 92’s.
Forest Park individual Colin Lane finished the tournament with a score of 84.
