Archabbey Oblate meeting scheduled

JASPER — The Benedictine Oblates of Saint Meinrad Archabbey, Jasper Chapter, will meet from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 12, in the Activity Room of Brookside Village Senior Living Community Activity Room, 1111 Church Ave.

Benedictine Oblates seek God through living, working and praying according to the Rule of St. Benedict of Nursia, who lived in fifth-century Italy and who is considered to be the founder of Western Christian monasticism.

Following fellowship and the customary evening prayer of Vespers according to the Saint Meinrad Archabbey Liturgy of the Hours, the chapter will enjoy a time of lectio divina, an ancient way of praying sacred Scripture and inviting God to speak to the heart through His word.

To learn more, call Jasper Oblate Chapter Coordinator Angie McDonald at 812-630-2885 or email her at angela.k.mcdonald@gmail.com.
