Archabbey announces meeting for Oblates

JASPER — The Benedictine Oblates of Saint Meinrad Archabbey, Jasper Chapter, will meet from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 14, at the St. Joseph Parish Center in Jasper.

Benedictine Oblates seek God through living, working and praying according to the 1,500-year-old Rule of St. Benedict. St. Benedict of Nursia lived in fifth-century Italy and is considered the founder of Western Christian monasticism.

Following fellowship and the customary evening prayer of Vespers according to the Saint Meinrad Archabbey Liturgy of the Hours, the chapter will hear an inspirational talk by visiting monks Br. George Rumley and Fr. Mateo Zamora, O. S. B., on the topic of vigilance.
