JASPER — No one spoke at a brief annexation hearing Friday in Jasper.
The annexation hearing was for Brookstone IV, a 19.66-acre subdivision being developed on the city’s west side. The area is west of Savannah Drive, northeast of County Road 450W, east of County Road 490W and south of Brescher Drive.
The owner and developer, KAKB LLC, plans to build 28 lots. Pebble Drive will be extended to the west and a proposed new road to be called Keusch Drive will be built off Pebble Road and will extend south through the subdivision and end in a cul-de-sac. The first homes could be constructed as early as this fall.
The Jasper Common Council will decide whether to annex the property at its next meeting, at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, in the council chambers at City Hall, 610 Main St. Council members will have to pass a resolution and an ordinance if they decide to accept the subdivision into city limits.
