Angela Berg of Fulda and Nick Schmitt of Otwell exchanged wedding vows at 2 p.m. CDT Saturday, July 6, 2013, in St. Boniface Catholic Church in Fulda. Father Anthony M. Vinson officiated.
Don and Carma Berg of Fulda and Leon and Darlene Schmitt of Ireland are parents of the couple.
Adrienne and Mary Roos provided music for the ceremony.
The bride, who was given in marriage by her parents, chose a floor-length gown of diamond white taffeta and organza. The A-line gown had a one-shoulder flower strap, a rhinestone belt, flowers at the left hip and ruffles from the right hip to the floor. The bride wore a floor-length white veil with rhinestones and silver trim.
Amie Sitzman of Maltersville was matron of honor. Also attending the bride were Amber Girton of Terre Haute, Maria Schmitt of Ireland, Cassie Berg of St. Meinrad, Annie Hoffman of Mariah Hill, Breanna Baker and Nicole Eastham of Indianapolis and Holly Begle of Chicago, Ill. Miniature bride was Emma Hoffman of Mariah Hill. Ali Hoffman of Mariah Hill was flower girl.
The bride’s attendants wore short, pleated dresses of Malibu blue satin.
Mr. Schmitt chose Kyle Beier of Ireland as best man. Groomsmen and ushers were Damon Girton of Terre Haute, Jason Berg of Fulda, Health Berg of St. Meinrad, Jeremy Hoffman of Mariah Hill, Brandon Scherle and Brendan Bonifer of Ireland and Tim Gudorf of Jasper. Payson Berg of St. Meinrad was miniature bridegroom. Ring bearer was Mark Berg of St. Meinrad.
Mrs. Berg chose a blue tea-length dress with a jeweled brooch on the shoulder for her daughter’s wedding. Mrs. Schmitt wore a dark blue tea-length dress with beadwork on the shoulder.
A reception followed at the Ferdinand Community Center in Ferdinand. Sami and Ali Schmitt registered guests.
The couple is residing at Otwell after a wedding trip to St. Lucia.
The bride graduated from Heritage Hills High School, Lincoln City, in 2005 and graduated from the University of Southern Indiana, Evansville, in 2008 with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education.
She is a second-grade teacher at William Tell Elementary School in Tell City. Mr. Schmitt, a 2005 graduate of Jasper High School, graduated from Vincennes University with an associate degree in agri-business. He is owner and operator of Nick Schmitt Farms and is employed by Oakdale Partners.
