American Legion Unit 147 October meeting
October 27, 2020The meeting was called to order by President Sherri Messier, opening prayer was given by Chaplain Linda Trill, moment of silence in memory of our fallen MIAs and POWs was observed and the Pledge of Allegiance and Preamble to Constitution of the American Legion Auxiliary was recited. Meeting was then declared convened by President Sherri Messier.
Reading of the minutes was dispensed with motion made by Stacy Reuber and seconded by Beth Kerstiens, then all agreed. Treasurer report was given by Beth Kerstiens.
Membership report was given with 158 paid which is over 50 percent.
Please have your poppy wreaths completed and turned in by next unit meeting. Turkey feed and birthday dinner have been canceled due to COVID-19. Fall dinners will be carryout only. The auxiliary will not be preparing meals but will be doing ½ pot on their assigned night. We received a thank you note from Echo Housing for our donation. We received patriotic decorations from Brian Wright’s family. We will not be giving donation for flowers for the bridge. Gift was obtained for district meeting. Questions were brought for ideas of what we can do to help our veterans and our legion.
Next meeting will be on Mon., Nov. 2, at 6 p.m. We will discuss Christmas Dinner at that meeting.
Charter was draped for Marta Holt.
Closing Prayer was given by Chaplain Linda Trill. Meeting declared adjourned by President Sherri Messier.
