JASPER — Jasper American Legion Post 147 has awarded $1,000 scholarships to six area high school seniors for 2019.
Students awarded scholarships from Jasper High School were Gabrielle Budd, Luke Summerlot, Haley Schroeder and Lucas Bauer. Northeast graduates were Molly Lueken and Paige Knies.
Budd, daughter of Joshua and Holly Budd, will attend Indiana University to major in biology.
Summerlot is the son of Mike and Vicki Summerlot. He will attend either Indiana State University or Purdue University to major in financial counseling and planning or financial services.
Schroeder will attend Western Kentucky University to major in nursing. She is the daughter of Terry and Julie Schroeder.
Bauer, son of Kenneth and Sheri Bauer, will attend Purdue University to major in chemical engineering.
Lueken is the daughter of Wayne and Pam Lueken. She plans to study special and elementary education at Indiana University-Southest.
Knies will attend the University of Southern Indiana to major nursing. She is the daughter of Joni Knies and the late Scott Knies.
